The 11th Annual Moscow Refining, Gas & Petrochemicals Week 2012 gathered more than 500 Industry Professionals




The popular annual event organised by Euro Petroleum Consultants (EPC) was traditionally held at the end of September this year in the ultra-luxurious Lotte Hotel in Moscow.

The week comprised of a two-day training seminar designed especially for ROSNEFT top executives and three conferences – IGTC, RPTC and RRTC, respectively on Gas, Petrochemicals and Refining technology. The series of events brought together more than 500 professionals, representing gas and petrochemicals producers, refiners, licensors, suppliers of equipment, contractors, design institutes, consultants and government organisations.

Euro Petroleum Consultants were honoured to be trusted by ROSNEFT for the programme and organisation of their internal training seminar that was held in parallel with IGTC and RPTC and gathered around 40 senior directors from the company’s headquarter and the ROSNEFT refineries.

The 4rd International Gas Technology Conference & Exhibition – IGTC covered the global market issues impacting the development of the international and regional gas, important gas monetization technology developments for natural gas to chemicals, petrochemicals and fuels, associated gases challenges and perspectives.

Leading technology providers such as UOP, AXENS, HALDOR TOPSOE, SHELL GLOBAL SOLUTIONS, SIIRTEC NIGI, EXXONMOBIL RESEARCH & ENGINEERING, GTC TECHNOLOGIES, STAMICARBON etc. contributed to the conference agenda, presenting the latest technologies and case studies on successful implementations. With special interest was received the presentation and a specially made film material on Construction of Complex Module of Associated Gas Plants containing real examples, which was presented from the General Director of MONOLIT Mr. Andrey Nepomnyashchy, the presentation on Gas Monetisation Case Studies in Russia & CIS by METAPROCESS’ CEO Mr. Kirill Lyats as well as the presentations from the research institutes: ROSNEFTS Izhovsk, SIBUR NIPIGASPERERABOTKA, NIIK.
The event had to be extended with 40min in order to accommodate the ongoing discussions and number of questions to the panelists in the end of the first day.


 The 11th edition of Russia & CIS Petrochemicals Technology Conference – RPTC, as usual provided important technology updates on olefins, polylines, aromatics & derivatives with innovations and case studies from Axens, UOP, Foster Wheeler, Ineos, GTC Technologies, Linde, Nalco and others.
Major consultants like IHS and NEXANT shed light into the future of the petrochemicals industry internationally, the current and future competitiveness of Production in the Region, assessing the impact of the Various Developments on the Cost of Production and profitability.
The Head of Development Department of SIBUR Mr. Valeriy Andosov has shared with the audience the ambitious plans of SIBUR for developing their petrochemical activities.
At the end of the conference Mr. Kirill Popov from Lukoil presented an update of the company’s current petrochemical projects and future plans for development.

With a welcome cocktail sponsored by Reefing commenced the 12th Russia & CIS Refining Technology Conference & Exhibition – RRTC, EPCs traditionally best attended event which attracted up to 280 delegates this year. The event was enriched by presentations by Colin Chapman, president of EPC, Prof. Vladimir Kapustin, General Director of VNIPINEFT, case studies from Lukoil’s Norsi, Volgograd and Bourgas Refineries, Bashneft, Slavneft-Yanos, TNK-BP - SARATOV REFINERY, RUSSNEFT – ORSK, Moscow Refinery, Gazpromneft as well as presentations from leading technology companies such as Axens, Dupont, Chevron Lummus Global, UOP, Dupont, Air Products, Air Liquide, Shell Global Solutions, Haldor Topsoe, Nalco and many more.
As always the events provided great networking opportunities for those who wanted to expand their business contacts & sales leads in the region, for which contributed the expanded exhibition area which this year accommodated more than 30 exhibition stands.

The networking was further enhanced by the Impressive Gala Evening sponsored by UOP and held in the newly opened Genatsvale City restaurant on Moscow River.
 
The Moscow Refining Gas & Petrochemicals Week will continue to be an established forum for exchanging ideas and experience. It remains the annual meeting place of friends, partners and professionals and those interested to develop their business in the full of opportunities Russia & CIS downstream industry – all gathered together by one common goal – improvement of product quality, competitiveness, reliability and efficiency of plant operations in Russia & CIS.

The organisers are now looking forward to another event dedicated to the Russia & CIS - the Executive Oil & Gas Summit in Dubai (20 - 22 February), which will attract the most senior representatives from the Oil & Gas Industry in Russia & CIS who will gather together to discuss strategic plans and best options for shaping the future of the industry in the region.
