Larry Tan, IHS MARKIT on Direct Crudeoil Cracking to Light Olefins

Larry Tan is Managing Director at IHS Chemical Consulting, Asia. He was presenting 'Direct Oil & Gas to Ethylene: Advantageous Technologies or False Dawns?' topic at ASIA-TECH 2016.

Larry joined IHS in 2013 and manages a team of consultants in IHS Chemical Consulting, Asia to help clients develop sustainable and profitable growth strategies through strategic analysis, reviews and implementation. He brings 30 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, mainly in the refinery & basic petrochemical segments.
Larry’s experience is wholly within the oil and petrochemical industry. Majority of that time was spent with ExxonMobil Oil and Chemicals in various functional areas of increasing responsibility – process engineering, technical, refinery operations, research & development (in USA), supply chain, shipping, manufacturing planning, joint venture commercial oversight (aromatics) and sales & marketing (aromatics and olefins). After he left ExxonMobil, Larry traded oil & petrochemicals (olefins and aromatics) for European firms covering the Asian markets and was the CEO of an Australian biodiesel company based in Singapore before he became a consultant. 
Larry also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer with the Singapore Management University’s International Trading Institute.
