The 7th
edition of the Middle East Technology Forum for Refining & Petrochemicals
took place at the Madinat Jumeirah Dubai from the 21st to the 23rd
of February 2017.
The event,
kindly sponsored by Honeywell UOP, ExxonMobil, Axens, Air Liquide, Amec Foster
Wheeler, Bechtel, PAS, DuPont, Schneider Electric, Shell Global Solutions &
Criterion Catalysts & Technologies, brought together an important number of
colleagues from around the globe.
ME-TECH
2017 had a strong focus on the key issues facing the downstream Petroleum
Industry: the renewed investment in light of stabilising crude prices, the
renewed interest in the latest technology innovations and the potential impact
of the future MARPOL Bunker Fuels Specification on the industry.
We had the
privilege to hear from many of the major producers in the region – with updates
on their strategies and key projects; from the role of refinery &
petrochemicals integration in Borouge, the potential and future outlook of
KNPC’s Clean Fuels Project, Sabic’s Crude Oil to Chemicals project through to
Orpics’s Liwa Plastics Industries Complex, HSE for Major Projects by ENOC and
YASREF’s experience with outsourcing Hydrogen System.
